VET-SPECIFIC COMPOUNDING
Dosage Form Alternatives
Compounding offers the ability to change a medications dosage form without altering the original properties of the prescription itself. As any pet owner is well aware, animals can be difficult to treat with medications. Cats are notorious for refusing to swallow pills and Dogs have been known to eat around a pill disguised in food. If a pet struggles with swallowing capsules or finds syrups unappealing, make treatment easy by letting us alter the dosage form. Our economical dosage options not only increase effective results, but also encourage follow-up treatment.
Custom Dosages
Dosages can be very tricky with all animals – for example; a dose of medication that works for an 90-pound German Shepherd may be far too much for a 5-pound Chihuahua to handle. Our custom doses assure that your pet is getting the right amount of medication and treatment according to their size and weight.
Flavorful Choices!
Picky pets are prime candidates for compounded medication. Despite their large muzzles, horses are able to weed out tiny little pills and leave them in their feed bucket. Just as well, Dogs & Cats don’t appreciate a traditional solution of medication being squirted into their mouth or even forced down their throats, but they’ll take it gladly when it’s flavored with meat or part of a tasty biscuit or chewy treat. Our high quality flavors will make giving your pets their medication a breeze and even trick them into thinking it's treat time! By working closely with your veterinarian, our compounding pharmacist and staff can prepare medicines in easy-to-give dosage forms that animals happily take! We can also help animals find their medicine more appealing by adding their favorite flavors such as:
- Apple
- Bacon
- Beef
- Chicken
- Fish
- Cherry
- Marshmallow
- Peanut Butter
- Vanilla
- Vanilla Butternut
